Chief apostle Jean-luc Schneider visit to Tanzania, 9th - 12th Aug 2018.

On Thursday, 9 Aug 2018, the aircraft carrying the Chief Apostle Jean-Luc Schneider landed at Julius Nyerere International Airport in the city of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The Chief Apostle was received at the airport by the host District Apostle Joseph Opemba Ekhuya. The chief Apostle was accompanied by District Apostle Charles Ndandula (Zambia), District Apostle John Kriel (South Africa), District Apostle Tshitshi Tshisekedi (Congo), District Apostle Helper Robert Nsamba (Zambia) and all Apostles of east Africa.

On Friday, 10th Aug 2018 the Chief Apostle was scheduled to conduct a divine service at 1230hrs in Mwanza some 900 kilometers away from Dar es salaam. The chief Apostle and his entourage left Dar es salaam by flight at 10hrs to Mwanza. The Divine service was conducted from Malaika beach resort, a hotel along the shore of Lake Victoria.

As the basis of Divine service, Chief Apostle used John 17: 15 “I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one.”

We have to suffer from sickness, from death, from injustice, but we remain faithful. We have friends and we have family. That is very important to us, but we do not want them to become more important to us than Jesus. That is what we can ask for. We can be wealthy, but we cannot forget our heavenly Father.

We are aware we are persecuted and tempted by the devil. We understand that, it is just normal. All those who follow Christ are going the same way. And we ask God to please help us. He helps us because He makes sure that no temptation becomes too difficult for us. He tells us the truth so that we can recognize the lies of the devil. He gave us the ability to love him so that we act out of love and not just out of obedience. He has given us a mission to fulfill in the society, and He gave us servants and brothers and sisters to support us. So, let us pray as Jesus prayed, “Father we do not ask you to take us out of the world, but please keep us from the evil one.” This prayer will be answered.” the Chief Apostle Jean-Luc Schneider expounded to the congregation of 2,516 members and guests in attendance.

On Saturday, 11 Aug 2018, it was time for the East African apostles and Bishops to have a meeting with the Chief Apostle. The retired Apostles and Bishops were also invited to the meeting.

In the afternoon, Chief Apostle and his entourage attended a one-hour music concert at Dar es Salaam University College of Education (DUCE). The songs were arranged and presented by the main and children’s choir. A well colorful concert brought a lot of contentment to all attended.

The following day Sunday 12 Aug 2018 was the climax of the event. The Chief Apostle Schneider conducted a festive divine service from Diamond Jubilee Hall. Many members and guests from Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda with the invitation by the District Apostle had travelled by buses to come and attend the Divine service. More than 3,165 members and over 15,000 connected via transmission participated into the festive divine service.

As the basis of divine service, the Chief Apostle used; 1 Corinthians 11: 26 “For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death till He comes.”

“We celebrate Holy Communion and we realize that we belong together. We are one body. What is the purpose of the body of Christ? The purpose, the mission of the body of Christ is to serve Christ. To serve Christ means as the promise said, to make known His deeds to all people and to publish His Glory to everybody. That’s our common task. To publish the Glory of Jesus Christ and to make His deeds known.

Let us proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ and let’s do it together. The other purpose of the body of Christ is that members of this body help each other to remain faithful and to prepare themselves for the return of Jesus Christ. So, once the congregation has celebrated Holy Communion, they become aware “Oh we belong together, we need each other to remain faithful, we need each other to overcome the evil one and we need each other to grow into the knowledge of Jesus Christ. Let us help one another, let us comfort each other, and let us pray for each other. We belong together, we want to enter the Kingdom of God together. That is the lasting effect of the celebration of Holy Communion.” The Chief Apostle concluded the Divine service with those words.

During the Divine service, Apostle Francis Charo King’ura (Malindi - Kenya) was placed into retirement and Bishop Oscar Sibota Kalumiana (Lusaka - Zambia) was Ordained an Apostle.
