On Thursday, 16 April 2015, the Chief Apostle Schneider landed Julius Nyerere International Airport, in the city of Dar es Salaam.  The Chief Apostle was accompanied by all African District Apostles and their helpers.

In the evening of the same day the Chief Apostle and his entourage were treated to a beautiful choral concert which was performed in Colosseum Hotel.

On Friday morning, the Chief Apostle and his entourage left Dar es Salaam city to Mbeya, some 900 km away for the first divine service. The divine service was held in a hired hall of a Teacher’s college. More than 3000 members were in attendance.

As a basis for the divine service the Chief Apostle used John chapter 4 verses 34, Jesus said to them; “My food is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work”.

During this divine service Apostles Elias Mwaisaka and Wilson Mtiga of Tanzania were placed into their well deserved retirement. There after five (5) apostles were ordained three for Tanzania and two for Kenya in Bishops Elisha Meleine, Watson Kalyembe, Nicholas Lorua, Emmanuel Macheho as well as District Elder John Sire were ordained apostles.

On Saturday, 18 April 2015, it was time for the East African apostles to have a meeting with the Chief Apostle. The emphasis was on the importance of celebrating Holy Communion in the divine service and care of offerings. As servant; after the meeting the Chief Apostle served all the apostles with cakes.

The next programme was the visit to Zanzibar Island. The members of this island which is predominantly Muslim were filled with joy to see their Chief Apostle. God’s work here dates back to 1983 when Mzee Maliwa’s family relocated here from Dar es Salaam. They had already received testimony of the New Apostolic faith and sealed.

Sister Elizabeth; still an active member of Mgambo congregation contacted Priest Sebastian Maneno of Dar es Salaam (now an Apostle) to go and establish a congregation there. This was possible in December 1984. Towards the end of the of the same month Zanzibar was blessed by a the visit of Apostle Wilbert Vovak and 125 souls were sealed. Currently the Island is home to slightly over a thousand members who congregate in 9 congregations.

The following day was the climax of the event. The Chief Apostle Schneider conducted a festive divine service at Dodoma. This is the government capital of Tanzania and its 460 km from the commercial capital of Dar es Salaam. Three 13 seater aircrafts had been chartered to transport the Chief Apostle and the entourage since the city does not have an international airport.

Many children of God from Kenya and Uganda had also travelled to this city where history was being made in the retirement of District Apostle Shadreck Lubasi and the ordination of the new District Apostle (Joseph Opemba Ekhuya). More than 6000 members and about 50000 connected via transmission participated in the festive divine service.

As a foundation of the divine service the Chief Apostle used; John 14:14 “If you ask  anything in my name, I will do it”.Thourgh the text word the children of God learnt some conditions to fulfill in order for Jesus to provide what you ask Him; for instance you must believe in Him. The other condition is that we must pray for what He would also pray for. We can pray for grace, unity and the shortening of the time.

Towards the end of the divine service he retired District Apostle Lubasi with moving words and went on to ordain his successor. District Apostle Joseph Ekhuya now has the responsibility to lead the East African District.
