District Apostle Shadreck Lubasi visit Nairobi.

It was a joyous occasion in the Central Sub district of Nairobi, on the warm Sunday of 12 April 2015, when District Apostle Shadreck Lubasi conducted his last divine service in active ministry at the South C congregation to a congregation of over 2,000 members and translated into the Kenyan national Swahili language. The aura of tranquility that hung in the air was a testimony to the preparedness done to welcome this day with great joy and love.

Ephesians 3: 14 and 16 was used as the basis of the divine service:

“For this I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ that He would grant you, riches of His glory to be strengthened with might by His spirit in the Inner man.”

With this the District Apostle stressed the importance of praying for one another that we may get strength through Jesus Christ, stating that he always went down to his knees during his days in active ministry to pray for all the faithful in Christ. The emphasis during the service was on the growth of the inner man, whom should demonstrate the total conviction in God and his son Lord Jesus.

Choral Concert.

As part of the extended program a choral concert had been scheduled to take place in the afternoon. A variety of musical performances had been prepared to include the main choir, Sunday school, the Orchestra and the Golden voices choir which consisted of the church old choir members who sang in the choir with the District Apostle about some 20 years back when the District Apostle was a choir master. This arrangement brought up good old memories to the near retiring District Apostle.

Towards the end of the prepared choral, there was a special cake heartily prepared and presented for cutting and sharing with District Apostle in his many years of dedicated service as a minister of the New Apostolic Church, which was followed by special gifts, a touching one being a carved sculpture of the District Apostle holding a bible in his hand. Apostle David Mwaniki presented this gift on behalf of the congregation!

The end of the Concert was expressed with rousing applause from the audience and left with joyful anticipation of the Chief Apostle’s Divine service on Sunday 19th April 2015,in Dodoma, Tanzania, where the District Apostle Shadreck Lubasi shall be placed into preserved retirement.
